A closer look at the Kayar Rubber Flooring. Design led, colour focused rubber
Designed by Sottsass Associati, Kayar rubber flooring offers an alternative to the classic bold colours of UNI rubber. These softer rubber flooring tones are blended with natural coconut fibres to produce a palette of 20 colours ranging from cold to warm greys, to blues, to orange, and even pink!
Kayar rubber flooring is slip rated, robust, durable and its unique aesthetic makes it a strong choice for design led corridors and stairs requiring a DDA compliant contrast.
Usually installed in offices, schools, and nurseries, this rubber flooring has also moved into other settings such as hospitals as design teams work more closely and consciously with the ideas behind colour psychology and patient well being.
The rubber floor itself has a low glare matt finish and provides resistance to staining, chemicals and ease of maintenance. Like it's sister product, UNI, Kayar also benefits from a manufacturing drive to reduce its respective Global Warming Potential figure and is part of Artigo Rubber Flooring’s GAIA initiative.
